On the Ground in Boulder: A Feminist Reflection on Mass Shootings

On Monday, March 22, 2021, there was a senseless mass shooting at my neighborhood grocery store in Boulder, CO, just days after 8 lives were lost in a similar tragedy in Atlanta, GA. After talking with women in the community, attending vigils, and visiting the memorial, I wrote this journalistic essay to explore how feminism might help my community process our experiences of violence and promote social change.
